Hi Stan and Kathleen,
I've been enjoying the blog but don't have a clue about how to connect with it...what icon at the bottom of the original entry?
At any rate, you're right on trend with pink and chocolate brown. There's something about (dark) chocolate brown...don't know why...People are MAD about pairing it with lime green, pink, pale blue, or earth green.
The day I read your request for decorating help with the pink carpet, I was writing my Red chapter for COLOR SCHEMES MADE EASY. Pink is part the red chapter and there I was on the page with pink and chocolate brown--my suggestion for you that day.
You've used the colors in softer ways which seems appropriate for the sandy tones that surround you out-of-doors. I would have suggested floor to ceiling curtains in that curious (builders are idiots sometimes, taking shortcuts) window corner to hide the entire thing. I see now that you've moved the bed to the opposite side of the room and worked cupboards around the windows.
Why aren't you using that wonderful gate as a headboard and placing the bed so you can see it coming in the door? It would be such a great focal point.

You have so many opportunities down there with Mexican doors, gates, great stuff in the Tucson salvage yards. I have a friend there, Claudia Franklin, who could direct you to shopping areas (you've probably already found them). I've done a lot of shoots in Tucson, great town.
