The neighbors are starting to talk.
If it is Monday night or Wednesday night, it is poker night. The little lady from St. Paul arrived early to take her place at one of the three tables seating 24 hopeful players at the smokey Catalina watering hole. Three hours later she sat alone with the dealer and all of the chips. Twenty-four really nice people had tried their best, but could not draw or bluff their way past St. Paul Katie.
Another night, another tee shirt.
St. Paul Katie doesn't always win, of course. In two other games she came in sixth and third, usually in the Top Ten.
She comes home late, stinking of smoke and stale beer, and everything goes into the laundry... except Stan's new tee shirt. The state of Arizona passed a law recently, (not sure if they are calling it Katie's Law), that, as of May 10, mandates no smoking in public buildings. Next year will be so much better, she says.
Shuffle Up and Deal!
