We're in a Santa Fe motel this morning, drinking the free coffee, using the free internet.
Yesterday's drive through the Salt Canyon was spectacular, but even more moving was the vast expanse of waving prairie grass in western New Mexico. The beige sea looked soft and inviting. No one there is use it.
We're going to take a day to explore Santa Fe to see what all the fuss is about. There's a walking tour of the downtown area; we might take that. Then, we're told, there are tons of shops and galleries in this centuries old town.
