The roomer

Meet Forrest Adams, living in our basement
Kathleen and Stan have taken in a roomer. Forrest is a new hire for the Chanhassen Villager. His wife is finishing college in Fargo. They will be buying a home soon near here. In the meantime. . .
(The basement has been a busy place. Missy and Emily just moved out after a couple of weeks, as she waited for her tenant to pack and depart May 1.)

We had an amusing moment the first morning with Forrest. Kathleen in her nightie thinking it was Stan puttering in the kitchen, and Forrest not yet knowing where he was supposed to make his breakfast... you get the picture.
Anyway, the boundaries, etc. have been worked out and order is restored.
Forrest returns to Fargo every weekend to be with his family.
Here's a bio we posted to his fellow employees that I will share with you. He's a really nice guy.

SW employees: Forrest Adams, the new reporter at the Chanhassen Villager, is watching "24" and drinking a Sam Adams in Stan's basement tonight. He's living in the lower level temporarily until permanent arrangements can be made for his family, who are now in West Fargo. Stan asked Forrest to describe a few things about himself as soon as the show is over. Here it is:

Now that I've got my "24" fix for the week, I can rest easy. I got to Stan's house last night at about 10 p.m. Back from a weekend in West Fargo, I'm looking forward to a busy week of newspaper reporting during the day and then meeting with old friends and looking at homes after hours.

For the previous two weeks I've been staying at my cousin's bachelor pad in St. Paul. I'm thankful for the upgrade to Stan's basement.

My wife, Liping, will graduate from Minnesota State University Moorhead on Friday morning with a five-year accounting degree. She will begin employment at McGladrey & Pullen, a CPA firm in Minneapolis, in September. My daughter, Karissa, is 6 years old and will graduate from kindergarten in two weeks. She's scheduled to attend first grade at Chapel Hill Academy in Chanhassen.

I'm a St. Paul native who grew up in the Pelican Rapids area and earned college credits from as far away as Zhaoqing, Guangdong, China. I have two bachelor's degrees- one in biblical studies and theology from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology (http://www.mngst.org/), which I completed while teaching university English writing in China, where I met my wife, and the other in communications management from Charter Oak State College in Connecticut, which I completed Online while working full time for a daily newspaper in Fergus Falls.

My hobbies are reading, exercising, having fun and finding new experiences. I'm a hard worker and full of life. I look forward to a good career with Southwest Newspapers.
