Bill passes Steve's exam

Nancy sleeping on the cot

Steve Rolfsrud writes:
Dear family and friends:
Friday, 8:00 p.m.
Bill made great strides again today. We attended his physical therapy and saw him go through the paces. When the father-in-law gives scores of 9's and 9.5's you know you are doing well. He was moved to the rehabilitation unit at Regions Hospital so no longer has Briggs for a roommate. He will work on cognitive therapy there to fill in all the synapses.

I gave Bill my own personal final exam: told him Ford's new cell phone number, told him that I was going to ask him that number an hour later, and he did so perfectly. By MY standards, he's definitely good to go, but the doctors say not quite so fast. It should only be a few more days before he heads out of the hospital. When we last saw him he was sleeping, but his brother, Andrew (photo, left), was ready to take him on in baseball video as soon as Bill awakened.

Briggs is still struggling with nausea and headaches. Her issues can be dealt with at home with the right medications and a lot of rest, but she first has to be able to maintain a diet. She seemed to make strides today so we are hopeful that it is only a matter of a day or two or three. Tonight Nancy is staying overnight on a cot in her room to help compensate for today's loss of Briggs' favorite roommate.

Thanks for all of the support.
Steve and Nancy

Thanks for all the interest in the Rolfsrud blog. We will try to keep it current with all the great help from family members. Many people inquire about the address to send cards for Briggs. Because we think that she should be home within days, and to avoid any delivery delay due to the forwarding process, please mail them to her home in Mankato. (As always, anything emailed to trailboss@swpub.com (that's me) will be forwarded immediately to the family.)

Cards now go to
