Kathleen's surgery went very well this morning, the surgeon said. Kathleen really likes Waconia Ridgeview Hospital. And she felt everyone she dealt with in the surgical suite was very competent. She just had a sedative and a spinal and some other drug cocktail, so she came out of surgery in an upbeat mood and only took some morphine late today. She was pretty peppy all afternoon and we had some fun. She wouldn't go to sleep. We watched Judge Judy and Kathleen blew into her machine. She watched Stan eat his Subway sandwich. She's on a strict liquid diet except for a piece of toast and peanut butter and jello.
Stan is home now, returning emails, etc. We'll put up more photos of Kathleen as her condition improves.
The fact that Kathleen is staying overnight is routine... they are guarding for infection and bleeding... and she'll be in Stan's full care by tomorrow.
In other news, Mother's move from Knute Nelson to Clearwater Suites went well. Lorlee Bartos reports that her mother stayed briefly at Clearwater Suites and found it quite satisfactory. More details here soon.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and expressions. Kathleen will be available for phone calls at least by Thursday.
