These two men were photographed recently near Ft. Snelling on the Mississippi River, not long before the I-35W bridge collapsed. It has been the experience of the Rolfsrud brothers that when Dick Robertson (left) and Doug MacKenzie are paired, no good thing happens to the third and fourth man.
Look carefully at the photograph. Please keep in mind that they are rarely seen in public without hats.
Robertson, the left-handed Tom Lehman, and his co-conspirator MacKenzie, became familiar to the Rolfsruds through confrontations at various Arizona golf venues. Elder Robertson generally chooses the courses, chooses the games of chance, makes the rules, and fills out the scorecard. A former schoolteacher, Robertson is accustomed to being in charge, unless, of course, he is called indoors by Brenda for chores.
Little is known of MacKenzie's background. Some say he's from New Hampshire, others believe he ran a haggis plant in East Des Moines. We know he has a patient and lovely wife, Nancy.
We look forward to renewing winter-time friendships with these unrepentant characters, assuming, of course, they're granted time for good behavior.
Mac goes under the knife soon. Trick knee. We sincerely wish him the absolute best and a 100 percent recovery. We don't want excuses come January.
