The Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Popemobile

It's exciting to live next door to Sandy and Tom Story. Always on the go, they have interesting lives and friends. Last week they went to see the pope, you know, the new one, Benedict the XVI.

And while they were at it, they looked over the Parthenon in Athens, climbed the Acropolis in Corinth and visited the temple to Appollos.
Meanwhile, Stan read a few chapters of his Winston Churchill biography and Kathleen went to a Craft show in Shakopee.
It is hard keeping up with the neighbors.

The couple works out every day when they aren't traveling, so the walk to the top of the big hill shouldn't have been too taxing. Sandy has served for decades as an adminstrator at the St. Michael's Parish in Prior Lake, and Tom has been studying his Bible like a Lutheran lately, so you would think that would merit a private papal audience. They humbly accepted a front position in the general audience, however, got a scowl from a security guy and, of course, a blessing from His Holiness.
These photos were sent to the trailboss at his request. More are available for those who wish them. Click to enlarge and see the fine needlework on the pope's garments. The photo with just Tom is taken in Corinth with the acropolis and the temple to Appollos in the background. (that's not a dunce-cap on Tom's head) Theme for the journey was "The Footsteps of Paul."
