Happy Birthday Sosie!
Erstwhile Vikings Fan Sosie Shearer donned the battle helmet and pigtails at the behest of her sister and brother-in-law, Ron and Linda Letnes last season. Loyal enthusiasts Ron and Linda have now moved permanently to Vikingland and are enjoying their first home season in about 20 years. Alas, their kin soldiers on in northern California wine country.
So, while Linda and Ron toast the exciting Adrian Peterson and company, Sosie and husband Bill just toast. Cheers on your birthday, Solveig. Enjoy a bright cherry cabernet sauvignon day, with great balance, good acid and a lingering finish.

Postscript: This won't be Solveig's best birthday. She continues to search for her dear friend and neighbor, Steve Doyle, 47, who suddenly and mysteriously disappeared a couple of weeks ago. Steve had recently spent time vacationing with Solveig and Bill in Belize. Today they will join others, continuing their search for traces of Steve.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of them, as they fear the worst, yet hope for the best.
