We got the last of the pink tile chipped away this morning and Ruben went right to work with fast-setting thinset in the guest bath. He'll seal the sink and grout the project by 6 p.m.. . . or his brother-in-law Enrico will come by tomorrow during the Super Bowl to finish. (Don't worry, guys. The walls are painted a "warm cocoon"; they ain't yeller, as your monitor might make you believe.)
Below, Ruben cuts tiles for the backsplash. That's a pencil in his mouth, at the ready for marking cut points. The job looks great; Stan's part was to purchase the tile: sink rail, bullnose for backsplash and field tile. "Did I buy enough, Ruben?" "Exactly enough!" he grinned, giving Stan a moment of pride for doing his part on this little job. "I was counting on you to not make any mistakes," Stan replied, now realizing it wouldn't have hurt to buy a couple extra just in case. After all, you can always use extras for hot plates or plant stands.
Meanwhile, Birdie is at the groomers, Stan is moving the computers in preparation for the carpet installers, Katie's picking up new dinnerware at Pier One, and UPS is due here any moment with new glasses from Minnesota.
It's a Big Day here on Rock Crest. Hope yours is going well too.
