Our Fave: No. 148

There's a bend in Minnehaha Creek somewhere in an old Edina neighborhood near 50th and France where they've built this brand new jewel box of a house. Didn't look at all out of place in the neighborhood, no McMansions in this established community. We were actually looking at some remodeler's projects nearby, but we got lured into this new Parade home for a quick peek. What fun. Great house. Our fave. Course it was almost two million, but it was a classy two million. Most of the biggies don't have this one's charm.
Here's the dope from the brochure:
Home Price:$1,850,000
This Home Features:
Two-story, Bedrooms 5, Bathrooms 6
5035 Square Feet, School District: 273
Located on the bend of the Minnehaha Creek, this elegant five-bedroom, six-bath has it all! With breathtaking views, grand spaces, boasting traditional style, unbelievable woodwork to crystal fixtures, an original Pinecrest door, hydrotect tiles that clean the air, and 100% Benjamin Moore V.O.C. wall paint. Handcrafted newel posts, reclaimed tobacco wood flooring and black walnut floors abound. This home also offers a gourmet kitchen, Old World pub, wine cellar, and exercise room.

Jenny and Joe got a look at the house later today: thumbs down - they liked the bar and little else. Their favorite is No. 147, just up the creek. We didn't make it there today. Hmm. Looks like a Sunday Road Trip to get this matter settled.
We did some slumming as we had originally planned, however, and saw some really great work in south Minneapolis in some of the classic house stock there. Kathleen took a photo of a unique bathroom solution. There was no room for a sink until somebody did some very creative granite work. No photography is allowed on the tour, it is strictly forbidden, but these rules do not apply to Kathleen and her little cellphone spy camera. Ron Letnes would be so proud of her.
