Everyday Hero

The honey wagon pulled into Abbey Point today and carried away a double helping. We paired up with the neighbors for the periodic purging of the septic tanks and got a discount. We greatly appreciate the man performing this essential task, he's cheerful, optimistic . . . and, we think, recession-proof. He went right to work,  soon had the butter churn (above) spinning, the pump surging, and before you knew it, had stuck his head deep into the abyss for a final inspection of his work. He's done it all before. (We noticed he carefully removed the peppermints from his shirt pocket before bending into the pit.)
It was a breezy day today on Abbey Point. Probably a good thing.
