Sleeping with the memories

Mark and his new bride, Julia, with the new quilt.
Throughout his misspent youth and his productive adult life, ex-Minnesotan Mark Rikess has been a concert promoter's dream: He's not only an avid fan of a variety of popular groups and performers, he buys a ticket to the show AND he always buys the tee shirt commemorating the event. This behavior has resulted in a trove of tee shirts accumulated over the years (The Boss, Dylan, Beatles, U2, Suburbs, etc., etc). The newlywed recently came up with an idea: make the collection into a quilt. Mark chose his favorite shirts and had a seamstress make up this spectacular keepsake quilt.
We were guests of Mark and Julia last night and enjoyed a fabulous dinner in their Los Angeles home, which is perched over an abyss beneath the iconic Hollywood sign. We listened to some music, of course, and yes, we watched the rushes of their June wedding video too. Very sweet.
BTW, plenty of material is left for more quilts.

I can dig it. I'm involved in a tee-shirt quilt for Hunter and/or Blake...they've worn out and grown out of a couple dozen ISU shirts...wish I knew the how-to.

hahahaha, Becky. I have a t-shirt project for Zach (his teen years)in storage. Have the blocks made and am now "aging" it until I find the instructions and time again. Search the internet, I remember there were lots of how-to there, such as dealing with the joining of stretchy and non-stretchy material
