Mom's old friends, Lavina Martinson Larson, and her daughter, Carol Martinson Seim, were morning guests at Bev Rolfsrud's Alexandria care facility today. They came to wish Mom a smooth move to her new Bloomington home tomorrow and promised to visit her there. They laughed again over the 1950s tale about butchering 100 chickens in our Lake Andrew yard and the unfortunate outcome there for another old friend, John Helgeson. Young John rode out into the country with Lavina and her family, innocently thinking they were just picking UP chickens at the Rolfsruds, not spending the entire day PICKING chicken feathers. When John discovered the awful truth, it was, indeed, much, much too late.
Poor John. Great story.
