Our first real snowfall

We have an appointment at midday in Chaska and are optimistic about a safe drive through today's falling snow. Our trail breaker Mina just returned from her errand and reports the roads are clear, it is just a bit tough getting out of the neighborhood.
We stopped "to watch his woods fill up with snow."
Didn't go in, remembering that our favorite winter poet,
Robert Frost, also said that "Good fences make good neighbors."
There's the monthly dinner with the neighborhood tonight, there will doubtless be snow stories as well as some folks announcing plans for their Great Escape.
The snow plowing company promised to swing by this afternoon, they sent out a high-tech email blast complete with snow maps in motion, indicating, among other things, that if you own a plow, business will be good this week.
Our weekend guests, driving in from Ohio on their way to California, will experience -20 wind chills. . . if they put their cheeks out to the wind. We haven't mentioned this yet, we think they know enough to bring warm clothes for their two-day-stay.
