Booths are decorated in what appears to be a pre-emptive strike against graffiti artists. |
See the girl with the chopsticks? The chicken didn't make the cut. You can read the menu if you zoom in on it at left. |
On the way through the building, we noticed "The Rabbit Hole," a restaurant we know absolutely nothing about, but they said they were serving lunch until 2:30 p.m. Many restaurants have come to die in this particular space, so we thought we'd patronize this one before it was too late. Emily was hungry, Steve and Stan were hungry, and Dan (who had already eaten) is always happy to join an occasion.
So the foursome came back downstairs, happy not to have to go outside for anything, and found a rather unique booth in what looked like the Kid's Section, and then had a look at the lunch menu. If you're interested, Google "Rabbit Hole" Minneapolis and you can check it out.
We know nothing about Korean cuisine, but a quick scan of the menu told Stan there would be nothing in it for Emily. . . except maybe, maybe the chicken strips.
Steve ordered the The Gogi -- a Beef Bologo Bowl with soft poached egg and greens, Dan followed his lead with the Ma Bell Pork Belly Bowl with kimchi and rabbit food. Stan order the Doshi Tray, 21 Spices Fried Chicken with rice, salad and kimchi and told Emily she could take anything off anyone's plate that appealed to her.
Don't be fooled by the nice smile. Danny ate the pork strip and pretty much that was it. |
Dan ate his pork belly and quietly set the rest aside without a complaint. Stan and Steve chowed down everything in front of them and pronounced it all delicious. Then Stan reached into Dan's abandoned bowl. So two for four ain't bad.
We still had Emily to feed so we walked over to the Food Market where she selected a chilled bottle of Pepsico's "Naked Juice," then angled for a huge candy cane at the check out counter.
Even though grandparents are allowed to spoil, we couldn't go that far.
