Beef, potatoes, vegetables and golf

Photo by Arlin Albrecht, who, incidentally, pioneered 35 mm photography in college in Wisconsin when he f0und that the conventional Speed Graphic was not up to the task of photographing college football. All true. You can look it up.

Steve and Virg:
Thought you'd like to know I enjoyed a round of golf at Stone Canyon today. Arlin says Hi. He remembers both of you. We had just a twosome this year because you were not able to make it. I would tell you about everything, including the birdie I got on Arlin's no. 17, where I shot a par last year, but I have to get to bed because we had so much fun today we are going to do it all over again tomorrow at 10:40.
And the temperature is?
Stan

P.S. from Kathleen. This evening Arlin cooked a marvelous midwest dinner for us: beef, potatoes, vegetables. Marilyn made a great salad and dessert. We sang around the piano. The wine was wonderful. Kathleen drove home, as she did last year, and got us to Rock Crest safely. Good night.

Friday, Arlin and I were joined by Vic (photo left) and Ron (above). They've known Arlin for years, are certified characters, and only a moderate danger to polite society. Both are outfitters who fly fishermen into Canadian outposts, leaving these two businessmen tons of free time to play around in Arizona during the winter. Ron, a Canadian ex-hockey player who doesn't need or use a driver, has been teaching Vic to golf. Vic has been using hs social security checks to purchase the latest in golf technology and has a class-action lawsuit pending against Ping. There were many lessons learned today. Stan and Vic learned humility on No. 17.

Three wise men
Work hard, play hard. These three successful entrepreneurs -- Vic, Arlin and Ron -- are enjoying the fruits of a lifetime of labor, and are now golfing in Arizona.

Click to enlarge these photos.... It is worth it unless you have dialup. Notice the Catalina mountains in the background. Saddlebrooke is located closer to the mountains and to the left in the photo above.
