Since I cannot rely on my brothers for accurate information about the weather in Minnesota, I have resorted to consulting with cub reporter Tom Obert about recent untoward meteorological events in our home state. Tom, a retired gov'ment worker and unrepentant Democrat, lives near my mother in Alexandria. He files this report. (Tom still writes in the first person and is unable to construct a lead. However, we continue to believe in him. His late father was the editor of the Alexandria Park Region Echo during our high school years, so we are hopeful that his skills will increase.) Here is his report:
Minus 43 windchillll
I'm sure you want to know what you're missing. As we speak, it is 19 below zero with a wind chill of minus 43 - the high today will be a balmy minus 7. And we are in a stretch where it will not get above zero until Tuesday - the coldest such stretch in 11 years (when it stayed below zero for over a month).

But we will venture out today - new U.S. Senator, Amy Klobuchar, will be in Glenwood this afternoon.
Thank you, Tom, for your report. Bundle up for your afternoon assignment, please. And greet Amy from Virgil.
