Briggs and Bill Siitari, the daughter and son-in-law of Steve and Nancy Rolfsrud, were both seriously injured in a two-car accident in St. Paul early this afternoon.Both are hospitalized at Regions Hospital in St. Paul and are in stable condition.
Briggs sustained broken bones and lacerations and Bill received head trauma. Both are under intensive care but are not believed to be in a life-threatening situation.
Ironically, the accident occurred one block from the hospital as the couple were traveling to the hospital. Serendipitously, a neuro-surgeon leaving the hospital actually observed the accident and returned to the hospital to care for Bill. The kind of injury Bill sustained is very time-sensitive so good fortune gave some balance to an otherwise very unfortunate day.
Many family members and friends came to the hospital to show love and support for Briggs and Bill and their families.

Briggs and Bill returned from Boston on Saturday where they found a suitable apartment to use while Briggs attends Harvard, starting this fall.
