It's a serape, silly

Can you say Wednesday?
Emily's at the house today. Grandma picked Emily up at her mother's house this morning, and as a treat, on the way back Emily said "Bye bye" which put grandma into a high state of excitement. Emily is starting to get real verbal, Kathleen says, with "Mama" and other words coming. Emily has not yet pronounced "Australian" or "infrastructure," but neither has the President.

Readers will please note that the item Emily is playing with in the photo at the right is not what it appears to be. It is actually a grunty-brown, sculpted, adorable toad that Kathleen perches on our front step, because she thinks it looks cute there.

Sometimes, startled guests, coming up our sidewalk, will comment, "Oh, I didn't know you got another dog."

Stan's busy getting furniture installed in Jordan today, so you can expect some pictures and explanations of the fabulous remake shortly. New paint, flooring, furniture, artwork in a 1940s retro theme. The newspaper has bound volumes going back to 1880 and they are now displayed in a special rack in the reception area. If you are ever in Jordan during business hours, you'll want to visit.

Now a personal note to Linda Letnes from Stan: It is great that Kathleen enjoys shopping with you, but please know that Stan must make sacrifices in her absence. For instance, since she went out with you, he missed supper and this morning there was no coffee without gentle prompting.
He is not saying she is taking on a new attitude or anything, just that he likes Kathleen just the way she is and is wary of any outside liberal influences.
