Runaway dog trapped by farmer
A jubilant Steve Rolfsrud writes:
We just received a call from Breck and her boyfriend, Mitch, about Zero, their now ten-month-old lab/border collie mix.
Zero has been missing since June 23, believed to be somewhere in the cornfields near Odin, Minnesota (about fifty miles southwest of Mankato). Today she was found!
Since June 23, Breck and Mitch have spent hundreds of hours searching for Zero.
They have distributed thousands of flyers in all of the neighboring communities, and written hundreds of letters to sheriffs, veterinarians and neighbors in the area where she had been spotted.
One of those neighbors, Lowell Mathistad, recently had seen her as the corn fields have been getting harvested in that area. He began luring her towards his home with bait. This morning he caught her in his live trap.
Mitch immediately went to pick her up and she is currently at the groomers having four months of grime removed. She is skinnier (living off of frogs, etc., just isn't as good as Science Diet) but healthy.

Photo is of Breck, Mitch and Zero last spring. No new photos are yet available of the prodigal dog, but we'll post them as soon as she's ready for her closeup.
Oh yes, in the words of Winston Churchill, never, never, never give up! Congratulations, Breck and Mitch.
