It's our grandson's birthday and he asked his mother to bake him a plum pie. Marcy was surprised by the request, had never known of her son's fondness for such a creation, but was equal to the task. This afternoon she found a recipe on line, rolled out a crust from her Betty Crocker cookbook and stirred together the Martha Stewart plum filling. She basted the shell with whipping cream and dusted it with sugar. It was served with Izzy's Salty Carmel Ice Cream and the birthday boy said it was "absolutely delicious" and then enjoyed a second helping.
