First letter in her new home

Mom's first letter. There will be many more.
Half an hour after Mom arrived at her new home in Bloomington, the mailman came up the walk with  a letter for her. It was from her daughter, Becky, who has just arrived in Florida, and who knew how heartwarming such a greeting would be. Mom, 92, handled the Big Move like the champ we knew she was, still chipper after 140 miles down I-94, a lunch of sloppy joes, vegetable sticks and old-fashioned dream bars, as well as introductions to her staff, the Welcome Home owners Cher and Chris, her lead aide, Jill, and her aide/cook, Marcia. Virg and his buff son, Aaron, wrangled Mom's big old hospital bed all the way down from Alex, but Mom just wasn't ready for it yet when we left her this afternoon. Her daughter, Sosie, will spend the next few days organizing and transitioning at the house. She's meeting with Sandra, the on-call RN, later today.
It was chilly outside, but we hope Monday may be picnic weather for the back deck where Mom's big fenced yard will be just the thing for a romp for Birdie.
Mom was smiling all day and so were we. Welcome home, Mom!
