We wouldn't lie to the cops . . .

Seems everybody saw the television story about how it gets so cold up north that boiling water thrown out the back door will evaporate before it can reach the ground. These New Orleans cops saw it and we had to verify for them that yes, it does get freakin' cold in Minneapolis. It gets cold here too, they say, but not really. Our landlord told us our unit has a heater. That's no heater, Stan bluntly informed him, that's a hair dryer.
But it's fine now, temps are rising and the sun is shining, which is a good thing, because the golf carts at the Audubon Golf Course are solar-powered and they were definitely making the rounds today. Stan played 18 sunny holes by himself, walked and carried his bag. (There will be a double dose of Advil tonight.) The golf course was built in 1898, and winds through centuries-old Oak trees, some with mossy wisps fluttering in the breeze.
We haven't been able to find a good breakfast place nearby, today we discovered a bacon and eggs grill in the clubhouse.  Gene, the maitre' d, said he put in the restaurant at the Canterbury Park in Shakopee years ago. Small world. Order up at 8.

Audubon Clubhouse… full breakfast menu.
