We're here

The rest stops are clean and inviting and the freeways are cloaked in pines, even in the medians.
We had a very nice afternoon in Mississippi.
It was an easy drive today, heading south, through Memphis, past Graceland and on through the nicest freeway we've been on in a long time, I-55 which bisects Mississippi, before terminating as a 26-mile long bridge into New Orleans.
Rob signed off on our final payment.
Yes, that's a fleur de lis on his baseball cap
We would have been happy with just no ice on the road, but our day was smooth and relaxing, a complete turn around from yesterday. We even had time to wash the road dirt off the car.
We arrived during rush hour in New Orleans, navigated our way through this old city, and found our home for the next 45 days on our first try.
Our host Rob greeted us, gave us a familiarization tour, then came back for our final installment and a nice long chat. We appreciated the extra time because Rob won't be here for a few weeks. As "the guy who saved the slave" in "12 Years a Slave," he's going to LA to be part of the upcoming parties and awards scene.
We're a bit tired, Stan could use a drink, but we didn't bring whiskey and we're too tired to explore the neighborhood, so we'll just order a pizza and try to figure out how the cable tv remote control works.
Anyway, we're here, it all looks good and we're looking forward to a nice stay.

"And can you put some sliced peppers on half of it?"
