Beginner's luck

We don't know what Fakataha means. Should we ask?
Call it beginner's luck, but according to the cement truck driver and he would know, we hired the best contractors in the valley.
The family is from American Samoa, there are 10 brothers and sisters, and one of them played football for USC. They do great work. The chatty cement truck driver also said that there is fiber in the concrete they are using which makes it tougher and more resistant to earthquakes.
"They are my favorite crew to deliver to," came the unsolicited remark from the career driver.

As usual, Sol the Boss showed up for work in flip-flops
today. Realizing he'd have to do manual labor today,
he looked around for socks and shoes. Finding no
socks in the truck, he borrowed a pair from Stan.
These were freshly-laundered in the new washer.
Stamped concrete shows up best in two shades, so that the relief has some contrast… as in nature.
Here workmen smooth the finish and dust on a second coat of color, gray, while a third man (background) stamps the rubber templates into the drying concrete. They waited for just the right curing point for the concrete, not too dry, not too wet, so the proper conditions would allow the coloring to take just right. We've also been assisted by a cool, overcast day, ideal for concrete. . . and hustling workers.
It's all good, so far.
