Brunch at Nancy and Steve's
Below, the archivists bent to their work, examing the contents of the many boxes to be carefully sorted. The work proved fascinating, nostalgic and memorable, and we hope to share many of the finds here, from time to time, as discoveries dictate.

State Fair Song and Dance
Our neighbor says his favorite thing to do at the State Fair is watch the pitchmen work. There are a ton of them each year hawking their wares, from Sham Wows to potato peelers. We spotted this old smoothie working the Home Crafts building, a craggy veteran of many a fair, carnival and trade show. He was hard at work yesterday as Kathleen and Stan watched him shuffle through his song and dance routine.

Do not adjust your monitor
The State Fair did cut into our work time, but we will push to have most of the weight training room done by the time sister Becky, husband Al, and Grandson Blake come a'calling Sunday night.
The State Fair did make a contribution to the project. We bought two woolies for painting a faux floor finish. Just two bucks each, less than the cost of a pronto pup.

Southwest High, Day One
Marcelline, Maxwell's Mom, reports that our grandson reports that he had an "excellent day" in ninth grade at Southwest High School in Minneapolis yesterday. Teenagers are not known for comprehensive reportage, so we're taking this as a good sign that all is well at Max's new school.Onward to Day Two.
