Help Wanted

1. Will anyone recommend a good police scanner? We're looking at a $99 model at Radio Shack that is supposed to be great. We also looked at one for $499 which is hard to program, critics say. Do we need to explain that it is not for the trailboss? Any opinions?

2. Does anyone have any good memory hooks for memorizing the new Twins lineup. We've had lots of practice at this over the years with all the never ending parade of low budget players. Let's see, Everett to Harris to Morneau? Or was it Lamb? Wasn't that a marvelous morality play of a baseball opener Monday? Wow. A joy to watch.

3. Anyone interested in a beautiful rolltop desk at $120? It has been listed on the internet and we've gotten the usual smatterings of folks with good intentions but no follow-thr0ugh. People who can click and paste can't always make decisions.

4. If one is short on cherry juice, is there a good substitute for cutting the acid from cheap whiskey in a Manhattan?
