Nothing like fire in the neighborhood

There's nothing like a fire call in the neighborhood to bring families together. Shakopee firefighters were called to Fairhaven Drive tonight for an apparent out-of-control bonfire. . . which was quickly extinguished and reports filed. It took longer for the neighbors to break up as the lovely evening gave rise to an impromptu get acquainted session for the new neighbors. Two homes have just been completed on Fairhaven and the new residents were there to witness the excitement and get introduced.

That's Joe and Julie with their two daughters and a friend (she's the redhead in the photo above) in front of their brand new home. They moved a couple of weeks ago from another home in Shakopee. She teaches, he's an attorney.

Stan's new bike with the comfort seat got him there promptly after Kathleen reported the excitement from the front window. Our neighbor John Gerken took much longer to arrive. He doesn't have a bike. Click to see Derek and Elaina and their family and dog. Then there is a car that you wouldn't want your kids to go near. (look closely at its door).
