Our past dogs us. . .

The late Erling Rolfsrud was a meticulous chronicler of facts. His work was painstakingly researched, documented. He also wrote a lot of fiction.

That's why this curious coat of arms found in Mom's closet has drawn interest. The Rolfsrud Coat of Arms? Is there such a thing? Norwegian nobility? It boggles.

Once upon a time, Dad created this with scissors, fabric and glue, just for fun. There's a sewn hem on it, of course, but that may have been contributed by his wife. We'll ask her.

So where did this princely design originate? Any experts with opinions? Who are these hounds and what are they looking at?
The fish we know about.
