The Aussies are here

A life-time friendship, spawned during the Vietnam War, drew a couple of Australians to New Orleans for a holiday with their Vermont friends. They're staying in the unit next to us in Uptown and we've promised not to keep each other up late at night. Our "12 Years a Slave" host has extended his stay in Hollywood, he just got a job on a tv show, so we are still fending for ourselves. We had to borrow a corkscrew from these genial neighbors, which led to a plan to attend mass at the historic St. Augustine Catholic Church. (Look that up, Googlers) There's a museum nearby and a parade at noon.
Frank, is at left, then Sue and Betty, and Dave (pronounced "Dive" -- he's the Australian who scouted for an infantry unit in Vietnam.)
Looking forward to some fun times with these folks before they leave on Wednesday. They scouted plantations for us yesterday and we expect a full report.
