The Alexandria Cardinal boys take on Austin at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Williams Arena in the opening round of the classic Minnesota State High School basketball tournament. Austin is favored. Stan was the 1964-65 Alexandria team captain. No state tournament for him. Go Cards!
Our own Shakopee Sabers will also compete, but in AAAA class. Alexandria is AAA, we think, so there's no danger of a split loyalty situation --- as there would have been years ago.
