No Mike to be found, but a good time anyway

Bartender gets endorsement from a non-drinker. What's up with that?
We drove to the posh Scottsdale Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa this afternoon to get a picture of Kim's bartender son Mike. We inquired within and were told that Mike had taken the day off.
We sat on the far right.
We slid over to the spectacular open air bar anyway and met Mike's fellow bartender and good buddy Andrew to explain why we were here. Stan told Andrew that Mike's Mom was steady with his little brother now and it seemed kinda serious so we wanted to meet her family. That earned us an offer of a drink on Andrew who really had no idea who we were and if we were just hustling him for drinks. We told Andrew that even though we are from Minnesota we do have money, but thank you kindly.
Andrew, Mike's good buddy, with a satisfied customer.
Andrew was born in Burnsville, but left Minnesota even before the North Stars did. He's been at the hotel 10 years, it's a good employer he says, and mornings he can golf at the beautiful company course, often with Mike.

This is a bar that Charles Barkley, who is said to live in the enclave across the street, is said to frequent, so we hung out for a while and ordered some appetizers. Sir Charles was a no-show.
Andrew mixed Kathleen a pina colada. She's a pina colada aficionado and declared the icy treat to be among the best she's ever had, must have been the high-end coconut rum they use, though she claimed she couldn't taste it. Stan's $16 Manhattan featured the always smooth Jack Daniels.
The hotel and the resort is spectacular, a central courtyard showcases a botanical display of native plant specimens. Pools, spas, golf courses, convention halls, gourmet restaurants, hiking trails, it's all there.
Too bad Mike wasn't.
