Kathleen's brother, Dan Neilson, tried the doors on his new bathroom cabinets in the Midtown Chicago Lofts. The deep cabinets match the present birch motif and were assembled and installed swiftly, the hinges were literally a snap. It helps when the directions are just pictures, no words. The addition gives Dan a ton of storage in a bathroom that had almost none, and certainly none at eye level. The cabinets are by Akurum, available at IKEA and include soft-closing hinges that are really cool. Cost was $181 for the pair, tax included. (Note the new grab bar in shower. Dan says it works great.)
