Our Sunday morning breakfast guests visited with our relatives in Mankato today. Neighbors Carolyn and Leno Masolini came over for fruit and waffles, then adjourned to the den for an internet visit with Steve, Nancy and Briggs.
---
Steve will be flying here on Wednesday, so Leno was able to use the high-tech connection to finalize critical tennis match arrangements with his Minnesota partner.
Leno also observed a whitish-looking material mounding outside Steve's window, and feigned ignorance as to the origin of snow.
The big news, of course, was the new grandbaby, with Grandma weighing in with the observation that, while she couldn't be exactly sure, it appeared that the five-day-old's eyes were following the print in a baby book when it was put before her.
Our skeptical group of non-believers insisted to Nancy that, while possible, it is highly unlikely that the child is reading already.
Baby is healthy and so are the parents, cozy in their Eden Prairie nest, changing, feeding, photographing and generally having their lives turned upside-down. We await postings - movies - on the adjacent blog.
Leno interviewed Briggs concerning her present staff responsibilities at St. Catherine's College and came away impressed with her maturity and intelligence. Uncle Stan simply nodded in agreement, he of few words, of course.
Kathleen received multiple plaudits for her breakfast. Carolyn presented her with a plant coordinated with the pink theme in our Tucson home. That theme has been muted over the course of our time here, but nonetheless is still most evident.
Earlier, the sun shone brightly on Cafe del Solveig, and the guests paused long enough to be photographed in the shade of Virgil's acacia tree, now a monster landmark in the neighborhood.
