Morning duties

If you stay a week in the Shearer guest bedroom, you are given a water can and some suet and told to keep the birds happy. Kathleen did this faithfully, reaching out from the tree-house-like deck, high in the branches, every morning, while Stan went downstairs to pour fresh-ground coffee. Then we watched the jays, sparrows, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, etc. while we discussed our daily adventures.
We're home now, we had a wonderful time seeing our nephew's wedding, but our hosts made it so much more than that. We're grateful to Sosie and Bill for the northern California experience -- we've shared much of it with you on this blog.

One wedding down, one to go, Jenny's got a new boyfriend and possession of our puppy, and now tonight we have a report that the golf course guy has been stopping by regularly on his four-wheel maintenance cart to spark the neighbor girl.

Ahh. It's truly the Summer of Love.
