Mr. and Mrs. Olson

Mark and Vanessa were married this afternoon at the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Victoria. Friends and family gathered from far corners to see the fruits of a seven-year courtship and they were not disappointed. Gifted musicians offered traditional wedding selections, including "Beautiful Savior," Canon in D, Pachelbel, "This is the Day" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." The pastor's message noted the serendipity that brought this couple together: he from Thief River Falls, she from Guyana. Mark came to work for Stan at the Chaska Herald over a decade ago. A co-worker introduced Mark to Vanessa, who at the time was living and working in New York. At first, few believed the shy Minnesotan when he claimed to have "a girlfriend in New York." But it all came together this afternoon. They're still dancing tonight.
All eyes. . . and cameras. . . were on the bride as she made her way up the aisle to meet her groom.
For their first dance, the bride chose "At Last."
