Seeking professional advice. . .

Katie's crack betting team at a permanently-reserved table at the Third Floor Race Book.
Today's crowded Kentucky Derby field drew hordes of amateurs to the betting cages at Canterbury Park this morning, but Katie knew exactly where to find some sound professional advice. The regulars on the Third Floor had already closed their own books on the Derby when she arrived, so they were happy to freely dispense remarks about the newcomer's choices, adding counsel and guidance to this special day.
Don Kieger discussed the complexity of a
19 horse field.
Here's who Katie likes for her two Exacta boxes: She likes California Chrome, Dance with Fate, Tapiture and Wicked Strong in one Exacta Box; she put California Chrome and Ride On Curlin in the other box.
Katie literally spent her Birthday money. Canterbury sent her $5 in honor of her birthday month. Added to our own cash, we have $16 total riding on today's results. (The sport in line in front of her placed $224 in bets, making Katie feel quite frugal.)
The gentlemen, pictured above, were circumspect in their remarks, being careful to say nothing that would make them responsible for any unfortunate outcome.
(As in all investing, betting involves risk. Past performance does not predict future success.)

Amateurs crowded these tables on the second floor.
